SOUTH SHORE CONTINUES TO CELEBRATE ITS 70th ANNIVERSARY WITH THE UNVEILING OF ITS UNIQUE IMAGINE COLLECTION AND 35 NEW ITEMS AT THE LAS VEGAS MARKET SHOW
Sainte-Croix, Quebec, January 13, 2010 South Shore Furniture is continuing its 70th anniversary celebrations at the Las Vegas Market Show to be held in Nevada this coming February 1-5, 2010. The company has recently launched a new brand image at the TCHFM (Canadian Home Furnishings Market) in Toronto, along with numerous new products aimed at the furniture retailers’ market segment. “We are really proud to be able to introduce so many new products to satisfy all distribution channels in such a short period of time,” explains Gilles Pelletier, South Shore’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. “Thanks to our thorough new product development process and our well synchronized development team, we were successful in achieving this high level of flexibility and market response.”
The Canadian company will be presenting a total of 35 new items in Vegas. As usual, their products combine quality and affordability, but not at the expense of great designs. One of the most notable new introductions is the IMAGINE collection, which has been developed as an iconic line to celebrate 70 years of design excellence and commitment to the best in children’s furniture. In fact, the very first products manufactured by South ShoreTM in 1940 were toys. As Category Manager Sophie Drouin points out, “we wanted to develop something different, so we spent a great deal of time interviewing moms to brainstorm and to find out what kind of problems they were having with their kids’ furniture. Lack of storage space in small children's rooms emerged as the most significant obstacle, but more storage does not have to mean ugly furniture!” IMAGINE has been specially developed for small spaces, combining well-thought-out features and extra storage space with a most attractive design.
After 70 years of history and three generations, South Shore’s family-operated business remains fully focused on high quality, innovation and customer satisfaction. “To symbolize our 70th year of operation, we have chosen the powerful image of tree,” indicates Marketing Director Étienne Chabot. “It serves to represent the company extremely well strong, with firm roots, reinventing itself constantly, and standing tall for future generations.”
As CEO Jean Laflamme concludes, “celebrating 70 Years of Reinvention with our customers is something I am really proud of. We have always been able to count on their relentless support, even in the most difficult of times, and we certainly intend to continue to offer them the highest levels of excellence and service available in our industry as we move forward.”
